The Annual Performance Review
As a supervisor, you have an important responsibility to ensure the employee reviews are conducted on time. Here is a step-by-step guide to conducting the annual performance review.
Make sure you have the most recent copy of the employee's job description and performance review form!
You will get a notice from Heather at the end of the month that stateswhich employees have a review due and how many years they've worked for the company.
Do not complete these forms together!
Give your employee a copy of the job description and review form. Next, complete your own without the employee.
The Most Common - Satisfactory
Nobody is perfect and ranking an employee as flawless does them a disservice. Be direct and balanced with an employee. They are counting on you to be so!
The Other 4 Ranks
Exceptional - They are a Master. Exceeds Objectives - High Performer. Marginal - Needs Further Training Unsatisfactory - Not Performing
Have the employee turn the Appraisal into Sam directly. Turn your form into Sam. Schedule a time to meet with Sam to review both forms.
The meeting with Sam should be the first time you see the employee's review. Once you've met with Sam, schedule a time to conduct the Performance Review with the employee.
An appraisal that honestly reviews an employee's performance is what drives employee growth and satisfaction!
