Volunteering in my Community:
When I volunteer, I feel as if I am rectifying some of the damage from the disconnect and self-interest that pervades our culture today. This damage fuels so much of the intolerance and fear rising in our tumultuous and unstable world. Through my service to others, I am "defining" and "practicing" the kind of person I want to be. This is the one choice everyone always has in life in each moment, in each decision, in every new encounter. This is what I choose.
