Analyzing 20th Century Poetry

"The Red Wheelbarrow" by William Carlos Williams
This poem was very short, vague and didn't provide many details. But by using terms like "the red wheelbarrow" and "chickens" this described rural/country life in the 20th century. Back in the 20th century, a lot depended on a "red wheelbarrow" because it was a common everyday tool used in farm life then.
"Languages" by Carl Sandburg
I feel that in this poem the topic is the spreading and arrival of new languages during the 20th century. I also feel this poem could have been refering to the mix of diverse cultures from immigration. During the 20th century there were immigrants coming from all over the world...resulting in languages "crossing borders and mixing".
