Open Education Resources by Gina Witt
Hello faculty and staff, I would like us to start incorporating more Open Education Resources in our classrooms.
I don't think I can handle one more thing to do in my classroom! I am already feeling overwhelmed!
Mr. Burnout you need to relax. I feel that open educational resourses will help your get your groove back. These resources help you create a virtual learning environment that your students will enjoy. This makes teaching more fun for you and learning more fun for your students.
You mean I won't have to cry myself to sleep thinking up new ways to engage students. I can just start with an OER and go from there.
Oh yes! You know what else is exciting? There are resources for all ages: k-12 and college students. Sites like CK-12, connextions, Hippocampus, Saylor, and KhanAcademy. These are just a few.
You know what else is really cool? Those resources can be used by: math teachers, english teachers, social studies teachers, as well as, elective classes. There is just so many usable resources.
That sounds great. I think I will start looking for the virtual learning link that best fits my students and I. I plan to get started right away. Look the tears are gone and I am excited for the new things my students will be able to do!
