Artemis : Goddess of Hunting
By: Zaria Wooten
My twin brother Apollo and I were both born from the God Zeus and the Goddess Leto.
I am the goddess of the wilderness, the hunt and wild animals, and fertility. Often symbolized with the cresent of the moon above my forehead. I was also one of the Olympians and a virgin goddess.
I see the well-being and protection of all animals.
At an early age, I sat upon my father's lap and asked to be granted enternal virginity.
I was named for being very possessive.
But Gods, Like Adonis thought they were better than me .
There started a myth that I sent a wild boar to kill Adonis.
Punishment for his hubristic boast that he was a better hunter than I.
As for me, I still live on protecting the children who live today.
