5 ways to use "Smart Snacking" to lose weight
One: replace cappucino with green tea
Coffee is healthy- but with sugar and cream, it is high in calories. Where as Green Tea tastes great without any sugar or dairy and has higher nutritional value.
Two: replace chocolate with protein bar
If you eat the one with chocolate flavor, you can satisfy your craving and a eat a nutritious snack.
Three: dried fruits & nuts
Dehydrated fruits and nuts are easy to carry along and are great snacking items. They address sugar cravings and also provide nutrition.
Four: milk & yogurt
Flavored milk and/or natural fruit yogurt is a great snack item. Make sure you flavor with natural sweeteners like stevia or agave. Store bought ones have very high sugar content.
Five: roasted grains
Lightly flavored roasted grains- Peas and Grams are a great snack item. In addition to lower calorie content, they are high in nutrition and are filling. Available in Asian and Indian food stores- though other grocery places have also started carrying them.
