Psychological Healing from Horses
Gridsquare of my livery yard.
Psychological benefits of working with horses are being recognised by a number of therapists who work with autistic children, young people with behavioural problems, adults with depression and celebrities with addictions. As a Person who suffers from depression can relate fully to this idea of 'psychological healing'

"The horse is the perfect mirror, they are very emotional beings; we're only starting to realise how intelligent they are,"
a horse picks up on the way people are feeling, mirroring their emotions and responding. As a herd animal they areattuned to stress and body language, a horse will move away from an angry person, follow someone it trusts and be unsettled when it senses fear. especially good for people who don't enjoy or benefit from talking therapies as counselling is not suited to everyone.
I chose my gridsquare to be where I keep my horse on a livery yard, as it is the place I spend most of my time and only a few miles from my house. My best friend keeps her horse at the same place so I am lucky to be able to go out for hacks in the area as it a few minutes ride from Lennabow Woodland, Our favourite place to go, and our horses are just as good of friends!
Theres not a better feeling for me than having a special bond with my horse, the feeling you can do anything together!
