Hello everybody, today we will be talking about Changing State let's begin!
Chemistry- Changing State
Changing State is when you change from solid to liquid to gas and vise versa. It is a Physical change which is an easy process. When you change from solid to liquid to gas, the temperature increases so the kinetic energy increases.
When you change from gas to liquid to solid, the temperature decreases so the kinetic energy decreases (direct relationship between the temperature and kinetic energy). When the temperature decreases, the particles release energy and the intermolecular forces become stronger,
and that's called Latent Heat. When you change from solid to liquid to gas, when the temperature increases, the particles absorb energy and the intermolecular forces overcome their strength.
And last but not least, when you change from solid to liquid the process is melting, and from liquid to solid is freezing, and from liquid to gas is boiling and from gas to liquid is condensation. Solid to gas without becoming a liquid is sublimation and also from gas to solid (directly without becoming a liquid), is deposition. So those are the processes in Changing State. Bye everyone have a nice day!
