August Pullman is not an ordinary ten-year-old boy. His friend calls him Auggie. He seperates himself fromevrybody else.
When he goes to school everything will change for him. He has been home school because he had surgeries.
Things is going to be
when he starts school!
Because his face has required many reconstructive surgeries, Auggie has been home schooled. But the surgeries are done for a while, and now it’s time that he goes to school, beginning with fifth grade in the fall. The idea of this terrifies Auggie; he knows how people react to seeing him, and he wonders if he will be able to fit in at school at all. Auggie thinks he would be so different but in a bady way. He thinks he wouldn't have any friends. He made a lot of negative reasons why he doesn't want to go to school.
When he goes to school its not what he expected. He found friends which he never thought he would. He also made enemies. People make fun of him and his back and people stare at him when he passes the hall. His closest friends are Summer, a girl who actually likes Auggie for who he is, and Jack. Jack was his assigned partner and throughout they became close. He also has enimies. The popular kids were there enimies. The one that started it was a boy name Julian.
They heat things up when it was christmas. Jack gets suspended for hitting Julian. He hits Julian because Julian for talking trash to Auggie. This leads to a fight between the so called popular kids and Auggie and Jack. While nothing more than mean words, in the form of notes in the lockers, fly between the two camps, the choas in the camps in the spring. There is a confrontation between a group of older boys from a different school and Auggie and Jack at a sleep-away camp. Auggie and Jack was outnumbered until a group of boys who were against Auggie and Jack help defend them from the bullies.
At the End.........
At the end, Auggie has a wonderful year at school, making in the Honor Roll. In addition, he gets an award for courage at school, He sees himself as ordinary, and in the face of everything else, he really is just that: an ordinary kid.
