THE STAGE MANAGER
A stage manager typically provides practical and organizational support to the director, actors, designers, stage crew, and technicians throughout the production process.
The Stage Manager's Box
The stage manager is the director's representative during the performances, making sure that the production runs smoothly.
In rehearsals, the stage manager records the blocking, the light, sound, and set cues in a prompt book. This book allows the stage manager to run technical rehearsals to determine the coordination of the technical aspects of the show with the action on stage.
The stage manager has many responsibilities, some of them are: --Scheduling rehearsals and organizing all rehearsal conflicsts. --Communicating the director's wishes to the designers. --Oversee the entire show from a technical stand. --Coordinate and supervise the work of the crew. --Call of the cues during the show.
The stage manager replaces the director once the show opens.
The Stage Manager is god!
