A day in the life of a nurse practitioner.
Hi, my name is Grace and I am a nurse practitioner at Yale New Haven Hospital. Once I graduated from high school I went to the University of Pensylvania to get my nursing degrees. Once I got all the education that was needed to become a nurse, I applied to hospitals in the area of CT, where my family lives.
In order to get a job as a nurse or anything in the medical field you need to apply online. I applied to a lot of hospitals and got offered a job at Yale. When I first looked at the process I figured it would be difficult due to the amount of people who want to work as nurses or doctors. When applying online it takes about 45 minutes to fill it out completely. Since there is a lot of people who apply daily there is a good chance your application will not even be viewed. However, if a manager is interested you will be contacted by a human resource person and meet up in person for an interview.
