i usually wake up at about 7:00. i get dressed and head to work. I have to be at work at 8 am. Now to start my day! I typically spend the morning in rounds and seeing patients. The types of things i normally do are: Provide educations for patients with nutrition-related conditions (diabetes, congestive heart failure, stroke, etc.) Assess patients who are at risk nutritionally and provide an intervention (for example, if a patient has a non-healing wound then I might talk to them about the importance of protein intake and order them an amino acid supplement) Manage nutrition support (tube feeding and TPN) when a patient cannot eat
A Typical Day :
Around 12:30 is my lunch time! i eat multiple sorts of vegetables and some sort of protien. At 1:00 i get back to work. 2:15- Our hospital lets local farmers set up a small farmer’s market in the parking lot, and I take a break to go see what kind of vegetables they have today. After this i head back to see some more of my patients until its time to go home. At 4:30 the time has come to go home and relax and repeat the next morning tomorrow!
In order to be a dietitian you have to major in a bachelors degree. Licensing i had to pass were the dietitan&nutritionalist license. Some states might require this.
