Photosynthesis and Humans
Humans and animals have a huge effect on photosynthesis and plants, both negative and positive. Keep watching to find out more.
Human's Negative Effect
-Pollution prevents plants from getting the nutrients they need to grow.
-Cutting down trees for wood and flowers.
-Plants are killed by people clearing fields and not replanting more.
Humans have a big negative effect on plants, here are some examples.
1)Auxins produced in the terminal buds suppress the growth of side buds and stimulate root growth. They also affect cell elongation.
2)Cytokinins promote cell division
3)Gibberellins affect: The rate of cell division Flowering Increase in size of leaves and fruits Seed and bud dormancy
Human's Positive Effect
Not only do humans harm plants and trees we can also have a positive effect
-Humans realize and study plants and that we need plants to survive. -Plants also give humans and animals oxygen to breath.
How do we benefit?
-We breathe the air plants release. -Animals eat plants to stay alive; we eat animals (the food chain). -They increase humidity -Reducing levels of certain pollutants
What do plants need?
-Light -Correct temperature -Soil -Minerals
