Daily Life of a Software Engineer
I have a demanding job that can require 8-14 hours of work per day. I can work in many different areas including website and app design. I have degrees in math, and a degree in computer science. I can switch between many different jobs because of the similarity in all software. I'm not likely to be promoted, as I mostly deal with code and software development is typically team based. I typically earn $93, 350 per year.
A standard day involves coding programs and fixing any bugs that occur within the code. In some types of development, like website design, coding is done quickly and bugs are fixed afterwards. In other cases, it is a slow process and bugs are worked out before the product is shipped. I do have deadlines, either to get a product working or to get a certain bug fixed - it is done on a "do what needs to be done" basis. Each member of a dev team may be responsible for a different task, and they are responsible for doing it with as little error and as quickly as possible. I will typically report to their team and we collaborate on what should be done.
