What We "Learned" in Science Class...

BIOSPHERE: What does it consist of?
The average tree, living 100 years, can absorb up to 5000 kg of C02 in it's lifetime!!
On Earth, there are nearly 100,000 species of trees alone! Impressive right?
All things on the planet that are considered living, or animate. This could be anything from plankton, to trees.
Humans breath 388 cubic feet of air, each day. That's about 11,000 liters!
Along with being four times faster than humans, a cheetah's heart beats twice as fast. No wonder they run so fast!
Another Interesting Fact:
Although the Cheetah may be a versatile predator, even some plants that make up the biosphere, enjoy thier daily serving of protein.....
Did you know...?
Earth's surface consists of 71% water (That's a lot)
What do we do with it all 1,400,000,000,000,000,000 tons of that liquid?
16% of Earth's energy comes from Hydropower. Thanks Hydrosphere!
30% of all fresh water on Earth is "Groundwater"
At any moment, the atmosphere contains an astounding 37.5 million billion gallons of water, in the invisible vapor phase.
How much water above and around us???
This has something to with humidity, high humidity can cause rain, and in some cases fog!
Within the hydrosphere, only a fraction(3%) is fresh water. Originating from Glaciers, Rivers, and small streams.
The Geosphere is what makes up the rocks, minerals, and land- forms of Earth's crust.
Earth's crust alone is 30km-50km thick in any given area!!!
Although shaping the surface of Earth takes millions of years, certain phenomenon make this process capable of speeding up...
These massive structures can destroy and create entire landscapes within a few days by erupting with molten rock and sometimes magma. (Lava)
Not only do volcanoes affect the surrounding landscape, the atmosphere is crouded with gases suh as
These terrifying occurances happen when pressure builds between techtonic plates, and is then released, all at once.
The biggest recorded Earthquake was in 1960, registored as a 9.5, sending 25m high waves through the streets of Chilean cities.
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!!!!!
