Electronic Safety Devices
ESDs are marked by a green triangular sticker.
An ESD is an electrical device on the inside of doors and when it is disconnected, the machine will automatically shut off.
Caution! An ESD does not kill the power. Still be on the watch for line of fire hazards.
An ESD Map illustrates the location of all ESDs on a given line. To the right you will see a map for line 83.
Electronic safety devices are checked once per week. A checklist must be filled out. The ESD only passes if the machine stops running.
An ESD Map illustrates the location of all ESD and E-stops on the given line. To the right you will see a map for line 83
E-stops are checked once every month
This is an E-Stop
Unlike an ESD, E-stops will stop the moving parts for the entire line instead of just the machine it is associated with. In the event of someone being caught in a machine or a fire is present, press the E-stop button immediately.
and be Safe!
