On January 6, 2015 scientists confirmed sitings of over one thousand planets that resembled Earth's conditions. Some planets even showed signs of liquid water.
Could this be a hint to life on other planets?
Life as all scientists know needs water to survive. The discovery of water was crucial to indicate a search would be a necessary part of the reseach done on that planet.
Where are these planets located?
Finding water on Earth-like planets affects the research process because scientists find that the research is more useful and will help to discover the life on other planets that they strive to discover
Kepler-62 e is very similar to Earth, and includes many of the similar landscapes
Since these planets are so far away scientists are unable to directly observe these planets. Meaning they would have to use different research methods that they may have not used before
These Planets are located between five hundred to one thousand one hundred light years away.
How does this affect the research process?
