Aboriginal women are a minority that are becoming a major targets for sex traffickers. If more funding and protection is not allocated towards them from the government, trafficking will continue to put the females in there community at an increasingly high risk.

Why are aboriginal women Targets for sex trafficking
Aboriginal youth make up only 3 5% of our population, and but in some cities they make up 90% of the sex trade
A CBC article stated that “Aboriginal women and girls are easy prey for human traffickers because they are more likely to suffer from poverty, drug addictions and mental-health problems, says a newly disclosed report.”
Victims find it hard to speak up and aboriginal victims find it even hard becuase they do not trust the police in most cases.
"The impact of the lack of trust issues with the police stems from the general mistrust of the justice system by aboriginal people, stories regarding the behaviour of individual officers who pay for sexual services or who coerce sex workers, and the inherent systemic racism perceived to be part of Canadian institutions."
Governmental actions needs to be exemplified by focusing on how to provide more trusted and specially trained police services with in aboriginal communities Rennie, Steve. September 19Th 2014. CBC. "Historical representations of the Aboriginal woman have often been linked to sexual availability and criminal activity,"

More Actiuon is needed for these women!
Aboriginal comm-unites have been colonized and mistreated by our government for an extremely long time and now learning that even with sex trafficking they are overlooked makes my stomach churn.
