Emmeline Pankhurst Leading a Militant Struggle for Suffrage In Great Britain
Emmeline was a British suffrage leader. She is known mainly for her militant actions.
Her radicalness landed her in jail on numerous accounts, but that didn't stop her from fulfilling her mission.
Because of her, and many other suffragists, the Representation of the People Act of 1928 was passed. This act alllowed women 21 years and older to vote. It was also the same year Emmeline died. Today you can see her statue that marks her life's work.
