Read 10th Grade By: Joseph Weisberg
Jeremiah loves Renee, who just moved from Japan. Renee doesnt feel the same way.
In the both of these texts, Forbidden love is shown as you will see in the next slide.
In 10th Grade, Jeremiah explains how his love for Renee will never have the chance to be expressed. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo tells Friar how he is in love with a Capulet, The family that his is enemies with.
"Then plainly know my heart's dear love is set on the fair daughter of rich capulet."(II,II)
Romeo and Juliet
"If somebody like god had come up to me on the 1st day of school and said "Jeremiah Reskin, by the end of the year you will be driving in a car alone with Renee and she will be wearing her kimono" I would not have believed him. "(225)
"Oh Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn by love and I'll no longer be a capulet."(II,I)
"But also when I'm with or around Renee there's something very intense (maybe chemical) just going on and i feel there is something special flowing between us. But i guess she flows that way with everybody."(257)
In these two quotes Juliet is expressing her love for Romeo by claiming to no longer be a Capulet. This shows how they are not socially excepted as a couple. Jeremy realizes he and Renee were not meant to be. He also notices the way she "flowed" with him she flows that way with other people too.
