Hydropower is a clean, renewable and reliable energy source which converts kinetic energy from falling water into electricity, without consuming more water than is produced by nature.
Ways We Use Hydropower
Most dams in the United States were built mainly to control floods and to help supply water for cities and irrigation. A small number of dams were built specifically for hydropower generation. While hydropower generators do not directly produce emissions of air pollutants, hydropower dams, reservoirs, and the operation of hydropower electric generators can affect the environment.
Good Things About Hydropower
It is a renewable energy source, it is reliable, it is virtually free after you build a dam (except for the upkeep of the dam), it generates huge amounts of power, it can be used for flood control, and it creates jobs for people.
Bad Things About Hydropower
(These things apply to dams with reservoirs, not run-of-the-river dams) The reservoirs displace people and the dams hold back nutrient-rich sediment that would fertilize areas further downstream.
I think hydropower should be used more, it gives people more jobs, it produces way more electrical power using the hydropowered dams
i think we should use this type of energy because it is renweable not like other types of nonrewable energy's that can run out anytime at any point and hydropwer helps fight climate change and i think this is a great type of energy and it saves money.
Why Should We Use This Type Of Energy:
