How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
The use of hardware has helped me to improve my final product. Using a Sony camera and a tripod has helped when we need to keep a steady shot, to add a professional adaptation to our final product. The software we used was 'Adobe Premiere Pro', and 'Adobe Photoshop'. Adobe Premiere Pro helped us to edit our raw footage. The accessibility of the razor tool helped when we needed to cut down our raw footage. Also, the pen tool came to use when we needed to adjust the pitch of the background music, when people were talking. Furthermore, 'Adobe Photoshop' was helpful when it came to creating our print product and our double page spread. The effects needed to get our message across were accessible when using the software. The dark vignette used on our poster created a more depressing atmosphere, which therefore links to the violence in football. Also, we were able to adapt our poster to other television posters with the help of 'Photoshop', we adapted our idea from the series 'Top Boy'. We created the same text style, to make the title stand out from the rest of the picture.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
Receiving our raw footage through the use of the Sony camera helped us when it came to retrieving clips needed in certain parts of a football game. The small sized camera was easily accessible and also easy to use. Therefore, with a memory card, footage was easily updated to our Apple Mac's. Likewise, we were able to use a tripod, which helped when keeping a steady shot to add quality to our footage. Both the camera and the tripod made the video clips easier to edit, due to the still shots and the high quality.
Using a digital storyboard made it easier than drawing, and it also helped when we needed to decide what to film, and in what order. Knowing the order of what to film made the filming process a lot more efficient, and the quality of the storyboard made it clear of what was required to film and how to do this.
With the accessibility of the Apple Mac computer's, it has helped me massively when editing our documentary. The available software such as Adobe programs has made it much easier to complete tasks within a time limit. The advanced softwareon the computers means that I can make the most of it and I cantry to achieve the best I can possibly do with the exceptional technology available to me.
In relation to computers, when accessing the internet it is clear that you can find or do whatever you could possibly wish for.To help me with my work, the access to 'blogger.com' means that I can update my work progress and I can post my current work on to it when needed. Also, with the help of YouTube, I can upload my drafts to make it easier for my target audience to view. Therefore, this helped massively when I required audience feedback. Accessing YouTube also meant that I could watch similar documentaries to mine, therefore I could analyse forms and conventions of the documentaries to therefore help to improve my final edit.Lastly, using social media sites such as Twitter has helped me receive audience feedback. It has helped me gain feedback from a wide range of people, including my target audience. Therefore, this has helped me improve on my work after analysing reviews from others. My target audience is males above the age of 12, therefore while looking at the reviews, Itried to focus on my target audience, however with the help of Twitter, a range of audience feedback helped me a great deal.
Looking back at technology ten years ago, it is clear that there has been a rapid change in the world oftechnology.
