New Imperalism is to rule over a people or place trough coloniaztion, military power,economic or political power.
The 3 Motivations for imperalism was for Economy,Political,and Religion. -The Economy was desire to make money and expand and contol trade. -Politcal was based on a nation desire to get power -Religion was to spread Christianity, to protect European missionaries
The Berlin Conference And Suez Canal
The Berlin Conference was about dividing Africa with different countries. Austria-Hungary, Belgium, Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden-Norway (union until 1905), the Ottoman Empire, and the United States to take part in the Berlin Conference to work out their policy.
The Suez Canal Is a ship canal in northeastern Egypt link to the Red Sea with the Mediterranean Sea. The Suez Canal is Important because it reduced the sailing time from Europe to trading destinations in the East.
The Sepoy Rebelion was set off between the British and the Indians. Indian soldiers that worked for the British during the British rule were known as the sepoys. When The British got better at technology they came up with new riffle carriages. The indians found that to make the gun fire it needed animal fat (Pig) and it was against there religion.
Balance of Trade
When the price of goods is too high for them all to be traded.
Trade Surplus means we are taking in more money than we are paying out to fuel our economy.
The difference in which how much a country takes in other then selling .
Opium War :
The Opium war was based on chinese and the british trade. China was brought a new drug (opium).This made the chinese government mad becuase more than half of china was addicted to the drug.The british were making money china wanted british to stop sending drugs to china.British did not comply china went into war with british.
Taping Rebelion :The Taiping Rebellion was caused by multiple factors including a difficult economy and peasant hunger. The civil war took place from 1850 until 1864. It was against the ruling Qing Dynasty.
Boxer Uprising:A chinese rebellion against British imperialism in the early 1900s. It was called the Boxer Rebellion because some of the rebels believed that if they did a certain dance while in battle it would deflect bullets fired at them, and the dance looked like boxers boxing
