My name is Eli Whitney and I am the inventor of the Cotton Gin. This device was an important invention in the Industrial Revolution because it seperated cotton fiber from seeds.
This helped produce more cotton and made it easier for slaves in the process of making cotton for cothing and other materials.
Hello, my name is Karl Marx and I wrote a lot of books in the time I have lived. One of my most famous books is The Communist Manifesto. It laid out the purposes and program of the Communist League. It also stated the problems of Capitallism and the approach to the class struggle.
Orville & Wilber Wright
I, Wilbur Wright, was born on April 16, 1867 and my little brother Orville was born on August 19, 1871. Orville and i are 2 of 7 children . We were the first people to fly a controlled aircraft.We stayed in the air for about 12seconds. Our fixed wing aircraft invention will help people in traveling and in warfare in the years to come.
I am Louis Pasteur and I am a French chemist. I came up with the principels of people having to be vaccinated for any diseases they might have. I prevented many deaths by disease for example I created a vaccine for rabbies and anthrax.
My name is Alfred Nobel and I am Swedish chemist. I am the inventor of dynamite. Dynamite has many purposes, for example, it could help out miners excavate large areas or it can be used as a weapon.
My name is Henry Bessemer and I'm an English inventor, engineer, and businessman. I invented the Bessemer process, which is a way to mass produce steel with less cost. Steel is used for building, railroads, tools, and much more.
In 1781, James Watt patented his steam engine, but the first steam engine model was invented by Thomas Newcomen in 1705. There is a lot of types of steam engines. One of the types of engines, the piston steam engine, works by the pressure of the steam pushing the piston.
The Spinning Jenny was invented in 1764. The Spinning Jenny spun cotten on a spindle to create yarn. This device reduced the amount of work needed to produce yarn.
The telephone was first patented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. This device enabled people to talk directly to each other from long distances. The telephone works by making sound into electronic signals and transmitting them to the user in the other line.
The non electric telegraph was invented on 1794. Telegraph refer to a long-distance communication system where message are carried by electrical signals on wires. When the message got to the receiver's end it was decoded.
The Enclosure Movement closed land shared by farmers that was used for farming. Due to the farmers not having somewhere to work, they had to move to the cities for new jobs. This movement contributed to the growth of the Industrial Revolution.
The labor unions fought for better working conditions. Before the labor unions formed, conditions for workers were unsafe and they recieved a very low wage. This was caused by the Industrial Revolution because the factories were very dangerous because of all the machines and workers got paid very little because it was thought factory work wasn't a very skillful job so workers didn't deserve high pay and there was already too much workers there to pay them all a decent wage.
Urbanization in the 1800's
Urbanization is when a large group of people move to urban areas. The reason urbanization was so massive in the 1800's was because most of the jobs and cheaper housing was in urban areas because of the Industrial Revolution.
