Christmas Day! By: Nicole Bartlett
Chapter 1, Happy Once upon a time, there was a cute little girl named Sophie. She always loved holidays, but her favorite one was Christmas! The big problem was that her parents were starting to become poor! They just didn't know how to tell her.
"Six more days till Christmas!" Sophie said. "Oh no," her mom said. "Why is it an oh,no?" she asked. "Should we tell her?" Papa said. "I guess so." "Well you see honey, we won't be having a very big Christmas this year." "What?! Do you mean we are poor?" she asked. "Yes," they both said.
Chapter 2: The Job Interview I was looking through the newspaper and found a job that looked really cool!" Help Wanted: Work $8 an hour at Boston's Dog Shelter!” “Oh my gosh! This would be the perfect job!! All of those cute puppy faces and stuff,” she said. So, she called up the dog shelter and asked if she could come in and start working there and they said yes, but they need to interview first.”Ok!”
It was monday afternoon and she was ready for her interview. Right when she walked through the door she saw all of these cute little and big dog faces. So she went into the room and it went really well until she found out you had to at least be 16 or older! She was only 10!
Chapter 3: No Christmas! So I couldn’t get the money which really stunk, and I didn’t get the job,“Hey honey did you get the job?” Papa asked. “No.” I said. “Aw that’s too bad”. mama said. Papa started to get dinner ready when mama and I were getting the table ready.
After dinner I watched a movie called White Christmas, my favorite christmas movie. Before I went to bed I took a peice of my chocolate calender.“Two more days til Christmas.” I said. So, I tucked myself into bed and closed my eyes.
Chapter 4: Grandmas House Two days passed by and there were no gifts except an invitation. “Dear Sophie, come to my house today and you will see what happens next …” - Grandma :) Well, that’s odd. Grandma never brings me gifts unless we are at her house.” I explained. But, I listened to the note and went over to her house.
I walked in and there sat under the tree, were gifts! “Grandma, where did you get all of these gifts?!” I asked. “A special someone came by and dropped them off.” she said, with a grin on her face. She picked one out that said, “Merry Christmas, Sophie! Love, Mama and Papa.”“Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!” I said. When I opened the boxa cute puppy popped out and started liking my face constantly! I was so thankful! And that is how my Christmas day went!
