How long are students in AIR?
Depending on the circumstance, students may be in AIR for 15 minutes to an entire day. For ex. if a student was asked to leave the class for behaving inappropriately, the student will develop a plan that address the behavior and return to the next class. If a student is making threats to harm another person, the student would resume in AIR to work on social skill project or role play with supervisin staff.
AIR is provided as an alternative for removal from school to prevent students from suspension. Students who are willing to work on restoring the relationship with both teachers and classmates find AIR very useful.
