As a child, John Pemberton attended local schools in Rome where his family lived for thirty years. John attended the Reform Medical College of Georgia for 4 years, and at age 19, graduated. John also practiced medicine and surgery while in Rome. Coca-Cola was created for a medicine to treat stomach aches. Science shows that Coca-Cola has way too much sugar to really help your stomach aches. Since it was clinically proven to NOT help sickness, it became a refreshing beverage.
