Slaves who were in the USA ran away to Egypt because of the harsh living conditions.
Slaves who ranaway to Egypt,
would rather live in Egypt because,
they treated their slaves nicer than any other countries.
Not all slaves in the U.S were beaten, but weren't treated nicely. They worked long hours and were verbally abused etc.
Many escaped slaves upon return were to face harsh punishments such as amputation of limbs, whippings, branding, and many other horrible acts
The slaves in the U.S. who were caught and brought back were tied up for days & some were beaten by their owner.
If the owners treated their slaves their slaves better then, they wouldn't try to escape and wouldn't mind doing labor as much.
In conclusion if slaves were treated nicely back then, they wouldn't complain as much.
