Nutrition for Atheletes
As an athelete it is important to maintain a healthy diet because optimal nutrition is essential for a good performance. Nutritional misinformation can do as much harm to the ambitious athlete as good nutrition can help.
An important part in maintaning a healthy diet is making sure your meals are balanced. This means each meal will have around 25% portein, 25% carbohydrates and 50% fruits & vegetables keeping in mind everything needs to be eaten in moderation. Stop eating before you feel full. It actually takes a few minutes for your brain to tell your body that it has had enough food,so eat slowly.
Since all forms of exercise use carbohydrates for energy, you need an adequate amount of carbohydrates to give your body energy throughout your workout.
