Women in Politics
Population vs Politics
The United States is currently ranked 84th worldwide in female leadership. In addition to the U.S. having such a poor rating, there are many countries with less than 18.5% of their political atmosphere being led by women.
In the 113th U.S. congress, however, the representation was a very unequal 535:99. Women made up 18.5% of congress.
In the United States, the male-to-female population ratio is 1:1.
What is proper democracy?
For example, due to the 113th congress being represented by only 99 females, there is not a loud enough voice to protest the constant anti-abortion bills that restrict women's medical rights to their own bodies.
A country can't be truly democratic without equal representation of the sexes because it permits less opportunities for one sex to abuse the system for their own interests.
Proper Democracy - continued
Throughout the world, there is no country in which a congress or other similar group of government officials has an equal amount of males and females.
In 2013, less than 21% of national parliamentarians were female.
This is a very slow increase from 1995, when the percentage of female national parliamentarians was a mere 11.6%
