Big question & sub questions
Why do we have layers of the earth?
We have different layers because of how the earth is formed but also we have different layers because the lighter portions like the continental crust floated to the surface, and the really heavy portions like iorn & nickle in the core all sank into the center of the earth.
What are the two types of mantel & what do they do?
Lithosphere: The lithosphere is the rigid outermost shell of the planet & is broken up into several pieces and is floating on the softer mantle called the Asthenosphere. Asthenosphere: The Asthenosphere gets its name from the Greek word for weak asthenis, because of the relatively fragile nature of the materials of which it is made. And then theres the upper mantle and the lower mantle.
What is the inner core?
The inner core is the very center of the earth & is one of the hottest parts of the earth. The inner core is more than 5,000 kilometers below the earth's surface.
