Who were the Wright brothers?
The Wright brothers were the first people to make a working airplane with a passenger seat
Wilber and Orivile Wright started off owning a bicycleshop in Dayton. From birth they were inseperable as twins and shared the same interest in everything.
Though they were amatures in the field of airplanes, they learned all they could from books and other resources.
Though they had some resources to their desposal, they soon realised that the work of others are mostly unreliable and they would have to solve any problems they found by themselved.
This was one of the planes they made. It was able to stay in the air but was sometimes unpredictable
In 1901 Wilbur observed "We saw that the calculations upon which all flying machines had been based were unreliable, and that all were simply groping in the dark..."
On December 17, 1903 the wright brothers were the first in the world to fly an airplane with a man inside of it
Though this was a great success, It would still be a long time untill they semi-perfected their Airplane
This flyer lasted 12 seconds in the air
In 1912 Wilbur sadly fell ill and died on may 30... He left behind his brother and his planes which in my mind his legacy serves as his legacy. Orivile didn't fly afterwards but many others flew the latest version of their airplane which was able to seat two passengers upright. A terrific feat for that time.
